Custom Training Rig

Functionality

The Training Rig Metaltex was contracted to custom manufacture was to be mobile and have the ability to be placed in harsh environments such as mine sites and oil rigs. The enclosure allows the client to test and analyse equipment when there is no workshop or available space.

This dual sided enclosure equipped with aluminium shadow board extrusion allows up to 4 people to work simultaneously. Allowances were also made for a small generator within the enclosure to keep equipment running 24/7. The test rig cabinet also has plenty of storage and shelf space in order to house equipment and tooling in a secure environment.

 

Manufacturing process

Equipment utilized to manufacture included Solid works, Radan programming software, 6KW Fibre laser cutter, 5 axis CNC Break press, Qualified welders, Magnetic particle testing, sand blasting, Paint booth and our assembly team. Materials utilized include Structural SHS and RHS to Australian standards, Mild steel of various grades, 2pak paint and quality hardware.

Caravan Custom Aluminium Storage Lockers

Metaltex has a long-term partnership with Jayco Caravans. For this specific project Metaltex assisted in the design and manufacture of powdercoated aluminium storage lockers, The brief was to further increase the vehicles storage capacity as well as complimenting a great product. Finished product which utilized such processes as Laser cutting, Turret Punching, CNC Brake Pressing, TiG Welding and Powdercoating was well received as it also matched the existing tread plate side panels and body ground clearance was not compromised.

Anodising and Engraving of Electronic Equipment

A client reached out for our assistance in manufacturing custom Aluminium rear electronic enclosure panels. The finished product manufactured in anodized Aluminium ulitized the following processes in its manufacture; Solidworks, Laser cutting, anodizing, engraving. The prototype was well received and volume production commenced after initial prototype was built and tested.

Caravan Tool Boxes

We were approached by Jayco caravans to assist in the design and manufacture of powdercoated aluminium storage boxes. The brief was to further increase the vehicles storage capacity as well as complimenting what We believe is an already amazing vehilce. The finished product designed in Solidworks and Manufactured utilizing our state of the art in-house equipment that includes Lasercutting, Turret punching, Brake pressing and Tig welding. The completed product was well received as it dramatically increased storage capacity whilst also matching the existing tread plate side panels.
